Ideal Gas Law Calculator

Introduction

This calculator uses the ideal gas law (P·V = N · R · T) for the calculation of a gas sample in different conditions. You just have to select the parameter you wish to calculate and then complete the other fields. Usually, ideal gas law provides enough accuracy for most applications, mainly if pressure is low and temperature high. In the cases that we need high accuracy we can correct the ideal gas law including the compressibility factor, Z, that indicates up to what extent the gas deviates from ideal behaviour (compressibility factor for ideal gases is one). The compressibility factor calculation depends on the type of gas and it is complex. This calculator considers Z=1 (ideal gas).
